Bellerive is a suburb on the Eastern Shore of Hobart – that is, it is over the bridge from the city. It is only about 6km from the city centre.
Bellerive is sort of a suburb of two halves, split by Clarence Street through he middle. The area to the north of Clarence street sits on a hill and many properties will enjoy some river views. The area to the south is pretty flat and enjoys easy access to the beach and foreshore.
The Bellerive shopping village is located at the entrance to Bellerive Bluff, which is a lovely little pocket by the river and also where you will find some of the older, and also more expensive, properties in Bellerive. The village atmosphere in this area is lovely.
Many of the properties in Bellerive were built from the 1950s onwards as the Eastern Shore started to develop further.
Facilities in Bellerive are very good, plus the neighbouring suburbs of Howrah and Rosny Park have excellent shopping and facilities as well. The Eastlands Shopping Centre is in Rosny Park and the public olympic-sized pool is in Rose Bay.
