The 2011 Wrest Point Royal Hobart Wine Show will be held from 12 – 18 November. The show is held in November each year and
is one of the most significant events on the Australian wine industry calendar.
First held in 1975 it has grown steadily in popularity and status to become the second largest wine show in the country. Its reputation as the showcase of a wide range of high quality wines of all styles has blossomed as part of this development, with an ever-increasing stream of high praise coming from judges, wine writers, exhibitors from all over Australia and the general public.
In keeping with Tasmania’s cool climate is the special place occupied by Pinot Noir in the Show. The award for the best Pinot Noir wine is the most prestigious in the Show.
Public tasting will be held on Thursday 17 November 2011 from 4pm to 8pm at Hobart Showground.
The wine tasting sessions offer a chance to sample Medal winning wines in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Admission will be $25 and catalogues of results will be available for $5. Entry fee includes a wineglass to keep. Light snacks will also be on hand and available at reasonable prices.
