The Tamar Valley wine region produces excellent wine and a day spent on the wine route is a lovely day out if you are in Launceston. The first winery is only about 15 minutes from the city.

However, if instead you are in Hobart this coming weekend then you can experience the wine route at the Taste of the Tamar event on Saturday and Sunday.

Taste of the Tamar – from their website

A Celebration of Wine & Food from the Tamar Valley

The Taste of the Tamar is an annual event which celebrates & showcases the premium cool climate wines and regional produce from the Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania.

This year, there will not be a Launceston event.

Taste of the Tamar will be held in Hobart at the Long Gallery, Salamanca Arts Centre, 77 Salamanca Place, Salamanca on July 20 & 21 from noon to 5pm.

Entry is $15 which includes an engraved souvenir tasting glass and free tastings of the products on display.

We hope you can join us to taste and explore our award winning wines, foods  and ciders.

We went to the event last year and will return this weekend. It was a lovely afternoon with great wines and an excellent opportunity to talk with the winemakers.

See you there!
