It is finally summer and the days are getting longer and warmer and everyone’s thoughts turn to spending more time outside. We love a festival in Tasmania and there are plenty planned for the summer months.

Following is a list of festivals and major events across Tasmania. We shall add more as we come across them, so please get in touch if you know of any others to add to the list.

 

Taste of Tasmania: December 28 to January 3, Hobart waterfront

Falls Festival: December 29-January 1, Marion Bay

The Cygnet Folk Festival – 10-12 January, 2013 (Cygnet is in the Huon Valley, south of Hobart)

MOFO: 15-19 January, Hobart

Tamar Valley Folk Festival: 17-19 January, George Town

Jackeys Marsh Forest Festival: 24-27 January, Jackeys Marsh (near Deloraine)

Kingston Beach Regatta: 26 January, Kingston beach (south of Hobart)

Festivale – 7-9 February, 2013 in Launceston

King Island Long Table Festival: 21-23 February, King Island

Evandale Village Fair and National Pennyfarthing Championships: 22 February, Evandale (near Launceston)

Festival in the Park: 23 February, Ulverstone

Taste of the Huon – 9-10 March, 2012 in Ranelagh  (just into Autumn)

Ten Days on the Island – Spiegeltent: March 2014, Hobart (full festival biannually, 2015)
