Farmers’ Markets are a wonderful place to find fresh fruit and vegetables and other produce and buy it straight from the farmer or producer.

In Tasmania, these markets pop up on weekends all over the state and below is a listing of where you can find them.

 

Hobart and Southern Tasmania

Tasmanian Farm Gate Market

Every Sunday from 9am to 1pm
Bathurst Street, Hobart – between Elizabeth and Murray Streets

 

Bellerive Farm Gate Market

Every Saturday from 9am to 1pm over summer
Reopens in November 2013 – Cambridge Road in Bellerive Village

 

Salamanca Market

Every Saturday from 8.30am to 3pm
This market of course has a lot more than food, but includes many stalls of fresh food and produce.

 

Big River Growers Market 

Saturday mornings from 8.00am to 12 noon – from December through to Easter

Bream Creek Farmers’ Market

First Sunday of the month, from 9am to 1pm
Bream Creek Showgrounds, follow the signs. Approximately 40 minutes from Hobart.

Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market

Every Saturday from 8.30am to 12.30pm
Cimitiere St car park in Launceston (opposite the Grand Chancellor hotel between Cameron and Cimitiere streets)

 

Deloraine Showgrounds Market

First Saturday of the month, from 9am to 1pm (except November and January)
A mixed market that includes fresh produce.

 

Devonport and the North West

Devonport Farmers’ Market

Second and fourth Saturdays of the month, from 9am to 1pm
Showgrounds in Gun Street, Devonport

 

Burnie Farmers Market

First and third Saturdays of the month, from 8.00am to 1.00pm
