Bruny Island is a beautiful small island in southern Tasmania, accessed by ferry from Kettering, south of Hobart. It is easily accessible from Hobart for a day trip, but even better for a weekend or longer break.

We had a lovely day trip recently, from Hobart to the Tasman Peninsula. Dale's brother and his family (who live in Launceston) were spending a few days down there and we took the opportunity to head there for the day to catch up with them all and to also reacquaint ourselves with the area. The drive from Hobart to Port Arthur was around 100km and took us 90 minutes from Sandy Bay.
Our dog Charlie loves to run at the park or beach. If you are moving to Tasmania or buying property in Tasmania and you have a dog then you are probably interested to know how the local councils manage animals and what facilities they provide.
