If you are in Hobart and plan to visit MONA (The Museum of Old and New Art), then the ideal way to get there is on the MONA ferry. It only costs $15 for a return trip (or you can do one way on the MONA bus) and it a lovely way to start and end the day. The trip takes 30 minutes.

I went to MONA on a beautiful summer’s day in February and the ferry trip was a definite bonus. This time in April we also took the ferry in both directions, and even though it was a sunny day it was a little chilly. Still sitting up the top was great and only got windy and cold for the last few minutes as the ferry got faster. On the 5pm ferry back we did get to the queue early to make sure we got a seat inside though!

Here is a short video showing off Hobart on the way to MONA a couple of weeks ago.
